AI for science is a widely used and rapidly growing area of open source research, with many repositories already tagged with ai4science and related terms on GitHub. Existing topics like machine-learning and deep-learning don't capture the scientific application context, therefore, researchers working on protein folding, climate modeling, drug discovery, and materials simulation would benefit from a dedicated topic to surface relevant tools and projects. Curating this topic would make it easier for the scientific open source community to find and connect around this work.
